The Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visas are for those engaged in preaching and pastoral duties and require a CoS.

Awards and Accreditations

If you are looking to move to the UK to work full-time as a religious worker or religious missionary, you can apply for a Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visa.

You need a valid job offer from an employer who is a licensed sponsor. Your sponsor will need to meet the resident labour market test and should assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to you. You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of the English language, pass a genuine employment test and show your travel history over the last five years.

You must be employed mainly for preaching and pastoral duties (unless in a senior position), with pay and conditions in line with the equivalent for British Citizens and permanent residents, living within a religious order or apart from society for religious reasons.

You can apply for a Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visa up to three months before you are due to start your position. You will receive a decision on your Tier 2 Minister of Religion application within 3 weeks.

You will be granted the visa for up to three years and one month, or the length of the engagement plus 14 days, whichever is shorter.
